First off, new enemy types have been integrated into the basic battles. War of the Chosen has also improved the alien side of things as well. However, this is still XCOM, and Firaxis has some new “treats” to share with you. Having one of them at the start greatly gives you a leg up on the opposition especially on legend difficulty. Because AP is shared in a pool, you do need to be mindful of whom to upgrade. Performing tactically on missions will earn you AP that can be used to unlock new skills. XCOM 2 VS WAR OF THE CHOSEN UPGRADEThe new classes also upgrade differently compared to the other classes. The new hero classes add some much needed variety and firepower at the start Templars have access to powerful psionic abilities even greater than your own psychic troops. Skirmishers can grapple up buildings and grab enemy units, while having the ability to attack twice or shooting then moving. Reapers have enhanced stealth options and long range sniping. With the story mission off, you’ll have one of the three given to you at the start, and you’ll have to make contact with the other two.Įach faction provides you with a new unit class to take into battle. If you play with the story mission on, you’ll get a linear mission that introduces two of them along with a new enemy class, but more on them in a minute. Joining you on your mission to save the earth are three new resistance factions: The Reapers, the Templars and the Skirmishers. There is a lot to cover here, and we’ll begin with the big stuff. For fans who bought the original three DLC (or the season pass), WOTC integrates them into the campaign. War of the Chosen is a top to bottom iteration on the original game’s content.
